Taxi Driver To Driving Instructor: James tells his story from trainee to fully qualified ADI
At iGo Driving School, we believe the best way to get our message across to anyone considering becoming a driving instructor, is to let our team of existing instructors tell their stories of their experiences with our company.
The first in a series of case studies featuring our instructors is about James, a former taxi driver that decided to put his career change in the hands of iGo Driving School.
“I’m really happy to share my experience with iGo Driving School. The journey to becoming a fully qualified driving instructor took about 18 months, and I couldn’t have done it without the amazing support from the team, especially Gordon.
The process involved three parts, and iGo was there to help me through each one:
Part 1: Theory - iGo provided an app that was incredibly helpful for practicing and preparing for the theory test. The resources were top-notch and made studying much easier.
Part 2: Practical Driving Test - This test was more challenging than a regular driving test, but the expert tuition from iGo made all the difference. The training was thorough and really prepared me well.
Part 3: Instructional Ability - The client-centered learning package from iGo was really helpful. It provided me with the skills and confidence to teach real paying pupils before taking the final exam. This hands-on experience was invaluable.
I’ve been qualified for three years now, and iGo has continued to offer help and support along the way. Whether it’s answering questions, providing additional training, or just being there for moral support, iGo has been fantastic.
Seeing other PDIs (Potential Driving Instructors) asking questions and sometimes struggling, I realize how lucky I was to have Gordon as my trainer. His expertise and patience were instrumental in helping me understand the whole process. I truly believe that iGo is better than the other schools on The Wirral, and I’m happy to have stayed with them as a full-time instructor for the past three years.”
Thank you for your kind words, James.
